Brigette, Germany's most popular women’s magazines has opted out of using professional size 0 models and instead is using ‘real women’ to model clothing in response to reader’s outcries of protruding bones.
This information made me extremely excited to find a pioneer of a major fashion media source pioneering in the walk towards a healthier world. With me having a past with anorexia and now having a friend being admitted to rehab for the 2nd time for an eating disorder, I see that this is the stepping stone that we need to bring unhealthy images out of the hands of those influenced by the skeletal pictures. If only we could bring this brilliant move overseas to US magazines. I mean, a brilliant designer is a designer that can design for every body type.
